The Military District Command or Kodim is the command for the development and regional operations of the TNI-AD under the Korem. The Kodim oversees several Koramil, led by a Military District Commander or abbreviated as Dandim with the rank of Colonel and Lieutenant Colonel (Letkol), Kodim is an abbreviation of the Military District Command which is under the auspices of the Korem. The Kodim is led by a Military District Commander or Dandim with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel or Major. The headquarters of the Kodim itself is usually in a level II area such as a district or city. The task of the Kodim is to carry out capacity building, strength, and territorial development in the context of preparing defense on land and to maintain the Kodim's security area to support the main tasks of the Korem in its territory.
